Authentic Foods Guar Gum can be used as a thickening agent for sauces and salad dressings and as a binder in gluten free baking. Guar Gum has eight times the thickening power of ordinary cornstarch, and it thickens with or without heat. Although it is not a nutritional supplement, it also helps block the absorption of carbs and fats.
To use Authentic Foods Guar Gum, simply add:
¼ teaspoon for each 1 ½ cups of flour in cakes
1 teaspoon for each 1 cup of flour in breads
2 teaspoons for each 1 cup of flour in pizza crust
1/8 teaspoon for each 1 cup of salad dressing
